Create is always looking for new outlets and ways to expand it’s catering operation and so the development of two cafés, both located in central Leeds was an opportunity too good to miss!
Our Café
First to open will be a new café located in the Holy Trinity Church and Arts Centre on Boar Lane. This whole area is currently under-going major development and will soon become a one million square foot indoor shopping centre right in the heart of the city. Create plans to work in partnership with the Church and it’s Arts Director to transform the café, giving it a fresh new look and introducing a contemporary, well priced new menu. Opening on October 6th this year, this business venture has heaps of potential; as when the Trinity Quarter development is complete (due to finish in 2010) Create will be running a café in one of the most prestigious retail spots of the city!
The second café to be launched by Create is situated within Leeds Parish Church, a beautiful grade 1 listed building visited by thousands of guests each year. This historical building is a popular attraction and the café area displays some the Church’s impressive architectural features and stained glass windows. Create plans to revive this facility, showcasing the beautiful building which surrounds it and providing a relaxed environment in which visitors and local workers alike can enjoy top quality, home-made food and drink.
Creating opportunities
Through these exciting new developments Create is not just expanding the business side of its Social Enterprise, but is creating opportunities for our staff and volunteers; providing more skills training, more work experience opportunities and more employment options. Perhaps you’ve heard about the transformative work CREATE is already delivering to ex rough-sleepers in Leeds and felt proud that people in your city are changing lives on a daily basis.
We’re delighted that CREATE has had a successful start in life but as a fledgling company we still have a very long way to go. We were lucky enough to obtain some funding from the government to start us up and our supporters at Barclays Bank were incredibly generous when they donated enough money to fit out the kitchen CREATE operates from…but we still need your help and that help can be offered in a number of different ways.
You can help by using our services. Use us to provide catering for your next team meeting, wedding, birthday party or training day.
Tell your family, friends and colleagues at work about how using our catering service means you get beautifully presented, top quality food, along with the feel good factor of knowing that all the profits support the work of CREATE and the Crypt. A bit of a win-win really!
You can visit our shop on Roundhay Road in Oakwood, which is in the process of being re-fitted. Come along to our launch event from Thursday 15th May to Saturday 17th May for fantastic bargains and a chance to meet the team.
